Purdue legacy and more! Gameplay thread.

The Purdue legacy, my Sims 4 family which was never intended to stick around for multiple generations, but did anyway. I had a website for my Sims and gameplay but it's now offline. Here's the old thread, it has some of the earliest stories, but doesn't make as much sense since the website went offline.

I keep track of the family tree on the Plum Tree app, but the gallery on that has been down for a long time, so here's a screenshot of the current branch:

dzL2pBz.png

Threads like 'What happened in your game today?' are threads I am very fond of, but unfortunately, due to a bad internet connection, I can hardly load them. :disappointed: So I'll keep this thread to still be able to share my gameplay.

My founder, Jocelyn Dale, a sim I created to play the detective career with. She married Ollie Purdue, one of the pre-made sims in the gallery. That's why this family has the Purdue name. They had one son, who in turn had four kids! The family tree continues from there.

QiLlVWn.png
I now play rotational, long lifespan and with MCCC installed for story progression in my Sims 4 world. Keeping track of family trees has grown to be the thing I enjoy most about playing the game. Not only do I track my played tree, but also trees of other sims in the world.

Land Rich, Cash Poor Sims 4 Challenge

I loved this challenge by treynutz in Sims 2 and it never played well in Sims 3, I guess people forgot about it because I am yet to see a Sims 4 version of it but now I've made one of my own! This challenge requires Seasons.

The original Sims 2 rules can be found here!

Introduction: (Copied from the original rules)
The outer regions of the sim word is a harsh and unforgiving place. With freezing winters, scorching summers, and plenty of wolves, very few sims have ventured forth to tame these extreme lands. Sim City government is desperate to expand due massive overcrowding caused by unscrupulous cheesecake venders. So a new “Free Land! Plus Money!” program was born.

Two poor, lonely, mismatched sims apply for the program and are accepted. They are whisked through an all too Brief Orientation Program and quickly shuttled off to a nice plot of land with a little bit of starting money. They must live together and make the best of their new life, their new home, and each other.

The Sims
-Create any 2 YA sims in CAS, must be roommates (These two sims will ideally eventually fall in love and start a family)

-Any aspirations you want

-Due to no zodiac system in TS4 instead your sims should have at least one set of conflicting traits with each other (i.e Sim 1 is active and sim 2 is lazy or sim 1 is unflirty and sim 2 is romantic)

-You sims may have no traits in common

The Free Land
-Start on a decently large lot (50x50+ recommended) in any world where it snows (although I recommend Newcrest as it fits the theme of new undeveloped lands)

-If there is no fishing area nearby to your lot (that your sim can walk to without a loading screen) then you may add a pond using buydebug

-Set seasons to 7 days long, start in Summer.

-Enter the lot before moving in your sims and add $5000 worth of trees (This is $10000 in the original however I found that the trees took up all the space on the lot, if you can make the trees fit you may use this amount)

The Free Money!
-Upon moving in adjust the balance to $2500

The Brief Orientation

-No public transport yet on these roads so no travelling to other lots for now.

-No stealing good paying jobs from hard working city sims (No jobs).

-If you earn enough to buy a business you may only sell crafted, cooked, caught or collected items.

-Only one truck delivery per day. For now you may only buy two objects and six wall sections per day. Truck arrives at 8am and will deliver until sundown.

-You may sell 2 objects to be sent back on the truck per day.

-Currently unable to make truck deliveries over winter as of the first snowfall.

-Any amount of produce or caught fish can be sold to the hungry mouths in Sim City at any time.

-No phone services are available at this time.

-You may cut down trees to fund item and wall purchases but no more than 2 trees per day. (Does not count towards sold items in the truck)
The following utilities (and others) are currently unavailable:

-Phone services

-Internet

-Sprinkler Systems

-Gas lines for cooktops/ovens

-Radio station signals

Expanding Services
On the last day of each Summer and Winter (originally each winter but the order of seasons can't be changed in TS4) one of the following restrictions can be lifted in any order desired:

-Phone Services Permitted

-Public Transport Provided (unlocks travelling)

-Craft Bench unlock (Woodworking, Flower Arranging ect)

-Road Upgrades (Multiple) doubles the amount of items you can buy/sell per day

-Snow plows, items can be delivered in light snow (before snowmen can be built)

-Snow Tires, items can be delivered in all weather (Snow plows required first)

Utilities
These may be unlocked on the first day of each season. (Except first summer)
On this day one of these can be delivered outside of the daily item limit.

-Televisions

-Computers

-Sprinklers

-Stoves/Cooktops

-Bee boxes

-Aspiration Rewards

End Game
When the family have unlocked all restrictions and utilities and have prospered on their plot of land

Other Rules
-No cheats except Reset Sim and Move Objects

-Any Age Span

-CC must be reasonably priced

-Doors, Windows, Stairs and Columns all count as one object each

-Fences and Half walls count as wall sections

-You can "move" existing walls by deleting and rebuilding them, not using up the daily wall limit as the materials to rebuild them are already there.

Enjoy! Let me know if you decide to give it a go!

A celebrity not so berry challenge mix anywhere?

So I loooooooved the not so berry challenge, and the get famous pack almost calls for a legacy challenge , like every generation has to be famous for something. One generation use their fame for good and some for evil....I am not that creative to come up with a challenge myself, but I love using the guidelines for a challenge to help me come up with it stories. Anyone seen anything like this?

Don Lothario's 100 Babies

I did something crazy ;)

I kind of wanted to try a 100 baby challenge, but I knew I wouldn't have the patience to stick to the original rules, so I made up my own "easy" version, where you don't have to take care of the kids.
Basically I turned the concept around and had a male Sim have 100 babies with different female Sims within his (young) adult lifetime. You can find the "rules" (there are rather few) on my blog here.

Of course I needed to test this, and I used Don Lothario (who else?) as my test subject, so I now have an absolutely crazy family tree, with no less than 100 children (52 boys, 48 girls) by 81 different women (64 single births, 15 sets of twins, 2 sets of triplets - 3 of the kids are vampires).

You can find the family tree on the plumtreeapp here - it's so big it doesn't even fit into a single screen when zoomed all the way out.
This is picture of the family tree a little while before it was complete:
tumblr_pn52vmK0SA1v8k7elo2_1280.jpg

Anyway, it was super fun (or should I say hilarious?) to do, even if the gameplay was rather repetitive.
This picture is from the start, when Don wasn't super smart and went into the Caliente household to meet Nina after getting both Katrina and Dina pregnant...
tumblr_plzkujnKxK1v8k7elo1_1280.jpg

And this is at the end, with a lot of pictures gracing Don's wall:
02-12-19_8-48-36_PM.png?width=1116&height=628

Also, now that Don is "retired" he's trying to become a celebrity by streaming footage of his everyday life, where he practices yoga, tends his money trees and paints abstract master pieces (he's a reformed man now - too much woohoo is too dangerous at his age).
02-16-19_3-43-37_PM.png?width=1116&height=628
02-16-19_4-48-23_PM.png?width=1116&height=628

I've only recently started posting my playtrough of this challenge on my blog, but I thought I'd share here anyway, since I have completed the challenge and updated the family tree accordingly.
Eventually all the kids will be up for download on SFS - I've only uploaded about a third of them now, didn't get round to the others. So if anyone wants to download them (as toddlers) look here. Also, if you want to see larger pictures of Don's offspring, let me know and I'll share them - I think it would be a bit much to share them all beforehand, it's a lot of pictures you know ;)

Caretaker Challenge

This is based on a challenge I found in the past. I dont remember the name of it or who made it, but this is not my own original idea.
This is currently being play tested. Rules are subject to change. If you have any ideas, feel free to post on the thread.

Setup:
  • Make a single sim with the Big Happy Family Aspiration and the Family Oriented, and 2 other traits. This will be your orphanage owner and can be either human, vampire, or alien.
  • Your orphanage owner should be made from scratch. Since you can earn points from skill building and aspiration stage completion, see points fore more details, you wouldn't get the same kind of score as others because it takes less time to max a skill that way then it would other people.
  • Move your sim into any size lot. This is where you can use your creativity. Build your orphanage in anyway you choose. You can make it as big or small as you want, and you can use money cheats as needed. Reduce funds to $10,000 when complete.
  • Make sure Aging is OFF. You will age up your sims as the challenge progresses.
  • Decide if you want to adopt children, toddlers, or babies each week. Refer to scorecard for point bonuses.

Gameplay:
  • Adopt life stage decided at the beginning of each week.
  • Age up Babies after 1 week.
  • Age Up Toddlers after 2 weeks.
  • Age up children after 2 weeks.
  • Age up Teens after 2 weeks.
  • Age up your Original sim every 8 weeks. (Only applies if they can age up)
  • Move sims out once they reach Young Adult. Example:
    uE1n589.png
  • Challenge Ends when your original sim dies or after 8 weeks of them being an elder.
  • If they are a Vampire and never reach elder, the challenge ends after 24 weeks or when they die.
  • You may not adopt a pet. There will not be room in the household.
  • You may hire any service at any time except the nanny service which may only be used when you are adopting another baby.
  • You get paid $5,000 a week. This is your salary for running the orphanage. Other money making methods are allowed, but you cannot get a job or run a business as the orphanage is your job. (For bonus points: Receive a reduced salary of 2,500 or Receive no salary. Refer to scorecard for point bonuses.)
  • Randomize your children's traits and aspirations. You cannot pick them yourself. (See below for random trait and aspiration generators)

Sims 4 Legacy Challenge Random Trait Generator

*Requires traits from a primary and secondary parent.
I plan to use PlatinumSimmers Randomiser for the second parent.

Sims 4 Legacy Challenge Random Trait Generator (All traits at once)
https://www.simslegacychallenge.com/sims-4-legacy-challenge-random-trait-generator-traits/
*Requires traits from a primary and secondary parent.
This one is great and does just what it says. Based on the two parents traits it generates traits and aspirations for child, teen and yound adult. The minor drawback is Toddler traits are not considered.

Points (Optional):
  • Every Sim Adopted= 2 points
  • Choose to Adopt Babies every week=10 points
  • Choose to Adopt Toddlers every week= 5 points
  • Receive reduced salary= 5 points*
  • Receive no salary= 10 points**
  • Move out a Young Adult= 2 points
  • Child taken away by Social Worker= -5 points
  • Gain a level in a skill= 3 points***
  • Master a skill= 5 points
  • Age up Children and Teens with an A in school= 5 points
  • Age up Children and Teens with a B in school= 3 points
  • Age up Children and Teens with a C in school= 2 points
  • Grades drop to D= -5 points
  • Grades drop to F= -10 points
  • Complete a stage of an aspiration= 3 points
  • Complete an aspiration= 5 points
  • Complete a stage of an after school activity= 3 points
  • Reach the top level of an after school activity= 5 points
  • Every good character trait gained when a teenager ages up= 5 points
  • Every bad character trait gained when a teenager ages up= -5 points
*To recieve the points, you must do the reduced salary throughout the whole challenge. If at any time you choose to recieve the full salary, you forfeit the 5 points. You can recieve these points if you swap from no salary to the reduced salary.
**To recieve the points, you must not recieve the salary throughout the whole challenge. If at any time you choose to recieve the salary, you forfeit the points.
***This includes receiving 3 points for level 1.

Never Stop Building Challenge

$

0
Like the Mystery Mansion Challenge I made, this challenge is also heavily inspired by the famous Winchester Mystery House . But unlike the Mansion Challenge, you are completely free to build your house in any way you want without limits. However, there is a catch: you may never stop building!

That's right. You read that correctly. Beginning as a Young Adult, your sim must continually add onto their home until he/she eventually dies of old age. You can have as many rooms as you want, as many stairs as you want...anything. It's all up to you! Your sim can even have a job to help pay for building expenses!

GETTING STARTED
  • Set aging to Normal in the Options menu and create a young adult sim of your choice. You are free to choose any aspiration and traits you want for your sim.
  • Buy an empty lot 40 x 30 or larger. If you need to evict and bulldoze a lot, feel free to do so
  • Use the Set Household Funds Money Cheat to zero out your household funds

CHALLENGE RULES
  • All building must take place throughout your sim's one and only normal lifespan. So, no extending your sim's life via potion of youth or turning your sim into a vampire.
  • Each room must be finished before you can start on the next one. That means all the walls must have color on them, the floors need to have floor tiles, there must be furniture and decorations throughout the room, curtains on the windows, etc. This includes hallways, entryways, porches/decks, attics, basements and the like (basically, any enclosed space the game identifies as a room when you click on it.)
  • The more money your sim earns, the more you build...and keep building. Don't be afraid to use up every available square on the lot ;)
  • All building must cease immediately the moment your sim dies of old age.

That's all there is to it! Good luck and have fun!

A personal note:

I am very excited to be involved with this and I sincerely hope that this will help bring Simlit down from the attic (where we store all our antiques) and out into the mainstream sims community (we have been cloistered away for too long).

I believe in mentoring new wordsmiths.

I believe in supporting experienced scribblers.

Most of all I believe in SimLit (reading is GOOD).

Getting top 3 is awesome BUT when Simlit wins we all do.

I will work hard but understand that the "job" of growing the community belongs to all of us!

[Official] Rags to Riches Challenge!

$

Hi there! This is my first official challenge on here :D.

So the challenge pretty much explains itself but I'll break it down.

RULES
1. Create your sim. Can be Male or Female (or Alien).
2. Lifespan must be 'NORMAL'
3. Must create a "studio apartment" like lot. Complete with kitchenette, dining area, sitting area, sleeping area, and bathroom. Considering you would have about 13,000 Simoleons you can go a bit nuts with purchasing items. The apartment MUST be on an empty lot.
4. After completing your house, you must have 250 Simoleons (only time you can use a money cheat).

From there, your sim must get a job. Their career is up to you but the higher paying jobs (Writer, Tech Guru, Painter, Entertainer, Astronaut) can be chosen in order to make the challenge go by faster. The Sim must have the job requirements done and go to work in the ideal mood to help get promoted quicker.

Your Sim must make friends, and LOTS of them (Traits such as Outgoing, Cheerful, etc. are recommended). Your sim must also find a love interest (Gay or Straight relationship is fine) and have at least one child. More children is fine (the more the merrier!) however if your Sim is in a gay relationship the children must be adopted via the computer, no surrogates or the Babies for Everyone mod. The pregnancy MUST go as normal, no Mega Pregnancy Mod to shorten the pregnancy or change the sex of the child(ren) and no changing the amount of children.

Your Sim must be in a big house and be successful by the time of their death. From then on, the last child born can continue on the legacy or you can do the challenge again with them by moving them back into the "studio apartment" and doing things differently.

I would love to see how you guys do! Post pictures in the comments or link your YouTube videos if feel like it.

Thanks for reading this guys! Happy Simming!

19 Sims and Counting

$
0
0
Hi! So this is the first challenge I've created. I got the idea from the TLC television show 19 Kids and Counting. I used to love it, although after the scandal with their oldest son I've fallen out of love with it. Yes, it's sad but not everything is perfect. But I thought maybe it'd be a cool challenge to try and have the biggest and most perfect god-loving family. Anyways, I'll get on with the challenge and everything.

Getting Started:

Choose your lifespan:
Short lifespan - Legendary
Normal lifespan - Challenging
Long lifespan - Intermediate

Creating your founders:
- Create your Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar. You may pick their traits BUT all other rules apply.
- They must be young adults.
- Must be married

Before we get started with the rules I have a quick note as some people might find offense in the rules. I have based the whole challenge off the Duggars and all the information I've found out about them. So no, I do not have anything against same sex marriages and such but The Duggars do not believe in them so I added that rule. Sorry if those rules offend anyone.

Rules:
-Mods to allow more than 8 sims in you household IS allowed, however you will not get lifespan points (outlined below).
-No boyfriends/girlfriends until reaching young adult (however, romantic interests are allowed).
-Girls dress code: no shoulders, cleavage or thighs showing. They may only wear skirts/dresses. (Obviously this rule is bypassed for athletic and swimwear unless you can find a custom content, mod, or cheat that will allow a skirt/dress to be worn.)
-Makeup is encouraged as beauty honors the lord.
- Girls MUST have long curly/plum hair. A woman's locks are her glory.
-Keep hugging between married couples (and OCCASIONALLY between siblings or family). Jim Bob believes that touching should be between a married couple.
-Boyfriend/girlfriend/fiances are NOT allowed to kiss or woohoo before marriage.
-Same sex marriages are discouraged (after all marriage is between a man and a woman).
-Hugging between a boyfriend/girlfriend are permitted, but not embracing.
-Men get jobs (woman can too, but only in places where there is very little or no physical labor such as business, painter, ect.)
-Must have full friendship with boyfriend/girlfriend before proposing.
-ONLY males are allowed to propose (which means you can become/play the male to get him to marry one of your YA females).
-Divorce is forbidden as marriage is a life-long commitment.
-Cheating is forbidden.
-Must have a church-held wedding (you may not elope). You can find churches in the gallery.
-Vacations are permitted (and encouraged).
-Males may not have long hair.
-Males do not have a specific dress code, however they're not to wear revealing t-shirts, underwear, or go shirtless except for swimwear.
-You may not cherry-pick traits, you may use create a random sim . com (completely random traits) or the legacy challenge trait generator (at least you'll have a chance at getting the same traits). However 'bad' traits such as mean, hates children, hot-headed, self assured, kleptomaniac, materialistic, snob, slob, lazy, noncommital, jealous, and evil are not permitted. You may re-roll if you get these traits. After all, your founders raise the children to be nice caring people as the lord would want.
-Women may ONLY have creative, outdoor, social, love, or family-oriented aspirations.
-Young again potions are allowed (but only in adulthood)
-You may not replace items, only fix them.
-Children and teens are allowed to go to school.
-After your 14th child TLC comes in, you'll get paid 200 simoleons for your 14, 15, and 16th children. After your 16th child TLC has decided you're worth funding! You'll be earning 10,000 simoleons weekly! (you use 'testingcheats on' then press enter and then enter 'money' and your desired amount of money. Remember this will change your funds to that amount, so if you have 3,000 simoleons and need to add 200 you'd put in 'money 3,200)
-All your kids names must start with the same letter of the alphabet (if you want an authentic Duggar experience you can do all J's but it doesn't have to be)
-Boys and girls MAY NOT sleep in the same room.
- Screen (television, computer, ect) time must be limited, find other ways to raise the fun need.
- You may not stay in your pj's all day (get out of pjs before doing anything else in your day if possible)
-Woman must have cooking skill (optional for men).
-Women may not go to the hospital, you must wait out the labor.

Objective:
Have 19 children before your founders die/become too old to have children. This challenge is recommended to simmers who excel (or want to excel) at the children aspect of the sims. Less for those who focus more on skill-building and job building.

Counting points is optional.

Points:
~ 2000 points for short lifespan
~ 500 points for normal lifespan
~ 100 points per baby (no extra points for twins or triplets
~ 5000 points for completing the challenge
~ 50 points per aspiration completed (by anyone of any age in the family)
~ -50,000 points if one of your kids is taken away by social services or dies from unnatural causes while in your care.
~ -1000 points if you use a cheat that is not outlined above (or you misuse it)
~ if you choose to use a mod that allows you to have more than 8 sims in your household than you do not get ANY points based on the lifespan you choose.
~ -100 points for every broken rule
~ -5 points every young again potion used.

Thanks and happy simming!!!

So, after a few failed reading circles I wanted to have a go at hosting my own. @simscognito (Cog) and I talked and we decided for it to be a reading circle for drama stories. Hence Banana Drama (banana was the only rhyming word I could think of as lhama is taken by another reading circle)

- Looking to have 4 or 5 members (Cog and I make 2, so 2 or 3 more) that are open for discussions (about twice a month so people have time) on writing stuff.

Guidelines for stories:
-Has to have some form of drama (family drama, drama in general etc)
-Not too many chapters. I'll say under 40 :)
-Updates at least once a month. :)

Decades Challenge

I've just started making and playing my decades challenge on youtube and the rules are too long for the description box. I figured here would be the perfect place to put them so I can link to them. It's still a work in progress (particularly the last 3 decades), but here goes.

You start in the 1890's (I downloaded a bunch of appropriate clothing just to add to the feel) and I wanted to show the changing world in real time, which means the challenge starts out with some limits to marriage in regards to race and gender. You can totally choose to ignore those and any other rules, these are just the things I am playing with. Each new decade starts with the children growing into young adults (or teens if you prefer)

1890’s
May only marry within their ethnicity
May only marry and have a relationship with opposite gender
Outside toilets
No electricity (Lighting is a problem here, use candles or lanterns)

Female children may only move out once married.
Male heirs only, if there are no boys, a married girl's husband may inherit

Writers' Lounge - For All Games!

My friend @friendsfan367 suggested, " i think it would be cool to have like a writer lounge where new writers like me could chat with old writers like you. opps i meant experinced."

So, here we have it! The Writers' Lounge, where new writers can chat with old writers like me!

This is a place to talk about all aspects of your writing! Every Simming and writing question is welcome, and everyone is invited to chime in with writerly suggestions, responses, jokes, feedback, gripes, comments, and conundrums.

Even though we're located in the Sims 4 area, writers of stories involving all Sims games are welcome!

We have people who write stories using Sims 2, Sims 3, and Sims 4 games--and everyone is appreciated and included!

You'll find that we're really welcoming, and we're really cool, and this thread is totally awesome. And we have a few common sense guidelines to help keep it that way. (We've learned from experience! )
  1. Treat each other with kindness, acceptance, appreciation, and respect.
  2. Follow the EA Forum Guidelines.
  3. Remember that this is a public forum, meaning that anybody anywhere with Internet access can read what you write. If you're a youngster, don't write anything you wouldn't want your mom to read. If you're an adult, don't write anything you wouldn't want your kid or niece or nephew to read.

Please don't feel bad if we pop in for gentle reminders if things get really OT or if we start to veer from the forum guidelines. We still love you!

I'll keep the coffee and tea pots full--you bring your favorite mug, and let's kick back and chat about writing!

Daily Conversations

Join us for daily conversations! We've got themed conversations Monday - Sunday. Of course, you can talk about other things, too! But if you're looking for a specific topic, swing by and join us!

Hi everyone! I know this isn’t one of the most popular challenges around, but it’s one of my personal favourites, and it has been since the ts3. I figured I would expand the rules, as the ts4 conversion hasn’t been updated since GTW, and to make some tweaks/ add levels of difficulty.

Credits go to the og challenge creator tigger89 and Scklsy for the first conversion.

Please ask me any questions you might have, and let me know if I have forgotten anything! Or if you have some suggestions!

Set Up

While the name is four immortal sisters, the gender of your sims doesn’t really matter. Although it is required the Fire sim be able to get pregnant. (I’m going to refer to them all as sister/she throughout the rest to not confuse anyone.)

They must be young adults and siblings, but they can look however you wish. Their traits and aspirations must be:

Fire Sister: Non-committal, and Hates Children, with the third trait being either Outgoing, Music-Lover or Self Absorbed (if you have GF) with the aspiration of Serial Romantic

Water Sister: Neat, Family Oriented, and either Perfectionist or Creative with the aspiration of Painter Extraordinaire

Earth Sister: Active, loves the outdoors and either Self assured or Vegeterian with the aspiration of Freelance Botanist

Air Sister: Genius, Bookworm and either Loner or Ambitious with the aspiration of Bestselling Author

For the lot, you may build wherever you like (though larger lots are recommended), and you can spend however much you want decorating and building , including using cheats (though be warned the bigger and more elaborate your house is, the higher the bills. Many people choose to build “quadrants” or seperate houses for each sister, but that is up to personal preference.

You must include:

Fire - Double bed, fireplace, bar, bathroom
Water - Kitchen, bathroom, bed, kids' room/s with beds and children's toys (you can buy cribs if you wish but I think they're useless since you get a free one when you give birth anyway)
Air - Study (with computer and bookshelves), bedroom, bathroom, kid's learning objects (such as the drawing table)
Earth - Bed, exercise equipment (treadmill, punching bag, etc), gardening objects, bathroom

Lot traits are available to be used.

When you start to actually play you cannot have more than 5000 simoleons. And make sure that the lifespan is set to normal

]General Rules

Each sister has a set list of responsibilities and skills they must do. A sister can not manually learn another skill and should not to another sister’s task if possible. (Like the earth sister shouldn’t be cooking, for example.)

Fire: This is the only sister allowed to leave the lot whenever and wherever she wants. She is responsible for finding and seducing townies to bring back and feed to the cowplant. But she also must sleep with the men she brings back so that their bloodline might continue even though they are being sacrificed for youth potions.

She doesn’t help raise her kids from baby to child. She can mentor them in musical instruments once they become a teen.

The skills she is allowed to learn are Mixology, any Musical Instruments, Charisma, Comedy and Mischief.

Water: This sister takes care of all the young children, as well as the daily tasks of the home. She may not leave the lot.

The skills she may learn are Cooking, Handiness and Painting. See Pack specific rules for more skill options.

Earth: This sister may leave the lot to go to the local parks to fish and gather harvestables, from 12 pm to 9pm. She is the one responsible for finding and growing the cowplant, as well as eventually mentoring the teens in athletics.

The skills she may learn are Gardening, Fishing, and Athletics.

Air: This sister is the wise sister, and she will be responsible for mentoring the toddlers in skills, and helping teens and kids with homework. The mains skills she can learn is Logic, Writing and Programming. She can also learn the other skills freely BUT only through reading skills books, no actual skill building activities outside of the three specifically mentioned.

The Air sister may take a day job, but try to make it fit. (I.E a write would be an excellent job for her, but an entertainer wouldn’t make as much sense. ) She may do skilll raising activities that are required for the job.

See Pack specific rules for more skill options.

Challenge Wins

So, this challenge can be gone about in a few ways.

1.There is no end goal and you play until you are bored
2. There is an “easy” end goal
3 There is a “hard” end goal
4. Points system!

I'm going to mention 'lose" in a couple of the options, but this is a PSA!! If you lose, you can totally keep playing if you want! I'm not going to stop you, and no one is going to care. If you're having fun, you're having fun!

Option One

Their isn’t really much further rules to add to this one. You can take some of the rules I explain in the other options if you want to spice up gameplay, but it doesn’t really matter how hard you stick to them. You win just by playing! Congrats!

Option Two

The end goal is to have 10 children hit young adult, and all four sisters have finished their aspirations. You may pick the traits of the kids, but no children can have the same traits (ex. Child 1 ends up being clumsy, music lover, outgoing. If child 2 is clumsy and outgoing, they can’t pick music lover as their third.)

You lose if:
-one of the sisters ages up
-one of the sisters dies
- one of the kids is taken by social services

Option Three

This definitely is the hardest option and is the most resembling the original rules.

The end goal is to have the four sisters max out 3 skills, compete their original aspiration, and one more from the list ,

Fire:
Musical Genius, Friend of the World, Leader of the Pack or Party Animal.

Water: Super Parent (Parenthood), Successful lineage, or Big Happy Family

(She will be allowed to leave the lot to find someone to partner with. She can pursue an actual relationship or not, but they may not be married or moved in. Her child does not count as one of the 15, but is also not required to meet the child expectations the others will be.)

Earth: Body Builder, Angling Ace, The Curator or Outdoor Enthusiast (Outdoor Retreat)

Air: Computer Whiz, Nerd Brain, Renaissance Sim,

AND 15 children hit young adult, that meet the following requirements

Toddler:
-level three in every toddler skill
(The air sister may help with teaching them to talk and with mental skill)
-Goodfriends with the water sister

Children
-Age up with an A in school
-Complete their aspiration

Teen
-Age up with an A in school
-Complete two stages of their aspiration
-Have a maxed out relationship (either friend, enemy or romantic) with someone outside the family
-Reach level 4 in fitness and a musical instrument and logic by getting mentored by Earth, Fire, and Air sister respectively

You lose if:
-one of the sisters ages up
-one of the sisters dies
- one of the kids is taken by social services
- 3 kids fail to meet the requirements

Option Four: Point system

So I haven’t been able to fully think this one out yet, but I will be releasing it once I have. My idea at the moment is to have the end goal be all sister have to complete their starting aspiration, and then they have to reach a certain amount of points. Points are gotten through skill level maxing, babies being born, child aspirations completed, etc. It’s going to be a middle ground between the easy and hard options. Or atleast that is how I am planning it.

Amazon Challenge: Tribe Isla (Update 5/18/19)

Hello! Welcome to my amazon challenge! This is staring the tribe of Isla. The Isla tribe lives on an island called Helike. Helike was an ancient Greek city-state that was destroyed by an earthquake and sunk into the sea by the resulting tsunami in 373 B.C. For the purpose of the story, Helike is a small island off the coast of the Amazonian territory. The island has been plagued by misfortune since it was settled.

Generation One
SUB6miE.png
Mahina the First Creator

She is the last daughter and only survivor of the first tribe to live on Helike. The first tribe fell to what historians call the wrath of the goddesses. Once Mahina comes of age she must rebuild Helike back to its former glory.

Generation Two
pWS5rmh.png
Myrina the Traitor

Myrina was raised by both her parents. As she grew, Myrina became disillusioned with how Isla should be ruled. What she wanted and said was law and no one else was allowed to make the rules unless she agreed with them.

Generation Three
UDr4s2r.png?1
Meritamun "Meri"

Meri doesn't understand why her father left her on Isla. She could live with him and be free from all the responsibilities of being creator heiress. The more time passes the more she wishes she could have the life she always wanted.

Modified Foster Challenge

I recently decided to do @simlady36's Foster challenge, but when I read the challenge, it seemed a little easy because it didnt have many rules. I decided to modify the rules to give it more of a challenge. All credit goes to @simlady36 for posting the original challenge which can be found here. Hope you enjoy.

Note: This challenge is still being play-tested. If you have any questions or suggestions, feel free to post in the thread. Since this is still in testing, the rules are subject to change.

Objective:
  • To adopt and raise 50 children.

Setup:
  • Start a new file and set the lifespan to normal.
  • Make a young adult sim to start the challenge with.
  • You may use money cheats to set up your house.
  • After your house is complete, set your money down to 10,000 if you used money cheats on the house.

Rules:
  • No cheats after the setup phase.
  • Before you can adopt children, you must have your sim find and get married to a mate.
  • You must adopt a baby. No adopting toddlers or children.
  • You must randomize your children's traits.
  • Before you age up a baby, it must be their birthday.
  • You may age up a toddler only if you reach level 3 of all toddler skills or the game ages them up.
  • You may age up a child only if you reach their A grade and you finish your aspiration or the game ages them up.
  • You may age up a teen only if you reach their A grade and you reach the top of a teen job or the game ages them up.
  • The child will not count until they become a young adult. If the child dies, or gets taken by the social worker, before they become a young adult, they do not count toward the 50 children objective.
  • If one of the parents dies, you may not adopt any more children. You must age the youngest child up to a young adult and find and marry a mate for that person. After you do that, you may continue adopting kids.
  • If you have the GTW expansion pack, and one your current parents get abducted, which results in a pregnancy, that will count as an adopted child, provided they make it to young adult.
  • If you have the parenthood pack, you must have no traits in range for negative character traits to age up a teen on your own. This is not to say that the bars for character traits can't be red, but you cant recieve a negative character trait.
  • If you have the parenthood pack, you must set a curfew.
  • The challenge ends when the 50th child becomes a young adult.

Lynnwood's ISBI Challenge Rules for TS4! - 7/2 SEASONS Update!

Update 7/2 - Not many updates, actually. As always, you may choose to change outfits freely, but this now includes changing into or out of a weather-specific outfit (which can potentially stop death if your sim is freezing or burning up). You may Choose an Umbrella freely with any sim, but actually using it will be up to the sim itself if they are a NTH.
_________

Let me just start by saying that I am NOT the originator of this challenge. As far as I can tell that honor goes to someone called Simslia. So far that I've seen, no one has yet adapted the rules to fit the TS4 game so I thought I'd take a stab at it. If you do play by these rules, feel free to post links of your challenges, I'd love to see how they go!

GETTING STARTED

Create a YA sim, give them whatever looks, traits and aspiration you’d like. Some like to play with the Erratic trait rule, I personally do not. If you do, then one of the traits given to your founding Torch Holder MUST be Erratic. They can be 'human' sims, aliens or vampires, your choice.

You will be playing on NORMAL lifespan.

Move your TH onto a lot. There is no restriction on which lot that can be. Build them a house, import a house from the gallery or let them live on the lawn for a while – whichever play-style you prefer is fine. This should be done with the standard 20,000 starting simoleons. Whatever you have left after purchasing property and house, that's your starting funds. If at any time you move in a single sim that brings an extra 20,000 simoleons into the household, it is PREFERRED that you use the money cheat to delete that (because it's kind've cheating for the 100,000 simoleons point gain, but I'm not going to enforce that one strictly). You may freely choose 3 lot traits for your home lot, but once chosen they cannot be changed. So pick wisely!

Find a spouse/baby-maker (human, alien or vampire). This can be anyone your sim can manage to woo; townies, premades, even sims you've placed into the neighborhood yourself just for this purpose. They must be asked to move in or married IN-GAME however, not placed into the household via Manage Households. Other than that, everybody's free game.

Once you've acquired your mate, have some kiddos. Adoption is fine, but they must be adopted as infants. Adopted children can be considered for the next Torch Holder.

When you receive the notification that it is a sim's birthday, you are allowed to age them up via birthday cake (see Free Actions below).

Now let them live their lives and try your best not to reach through the computer screen and strangle them as they commence to peeing themselves/passing out all over the place.

THE GOAL

The ultimate goal is to survive 10 generations of sims while only controlling one sim at a time, and keeping score throughout.

Each Torch-Holder must have at least two children. You don’t HAVE to get married, but doing so increases the chance for more points (and more failures). If playing with the Erratic trait rule then each child MUST be given the Erratic trait at some point. Otherwise all traits and aspirations should be randomized. Pinstar’s Legacy website or Platinum Simmers has a great randomizer for doing so.

Throughout the challenge, only ONE sim may be controlled by you, and that’s your current Torch Holder. All other sims must live on complete autonomy, to live (or fail) as they will. Obviously this means that sim autonomy should be turned on in your game settings at all times. When the child you’ve chosen as heir reaches YA, the ‘torch’ is passed to them and they become your controllable sim. Your former TH enters the land of autonomy and you are never allowed to control them again. There are some Free Action exceptions to this rule, see below for details.

Once a child reaches YA and they are not your heir, they must be moved out of the household.

HARD MODE

If you'd like to take the challenge one step higher in difficulty, then these rules should also be followed;

You are not allowed to utilize the 'Hand of God' (aka click-dragging items such as dirty dishes or inventory items). Anything in the game must be managed or manipulated by the sims themselves, either your TH or a life-stage free action of a NTH.

You are not--at any time or circumstance--allowed to hire a Nanny, Repairman, Gardener, Pizza Delivery, Maid or Butler.

The following is an updated scorecard, modified for changes in TS4 as opposed to its predecessors.

Immortalizing the Torch-Holder : +5 [This can be done in a number of ways. Write a biography (writing skill level 10), paint a painting from reference of the sim at 8+ painting skill, or take a picture with a 5+ photography skill in the Torch-Holder's honor. Done to remember your THs on through the generations. ]

*You can calculate total simoleons earned in 2 different ways. 1 - go to build mode, click on the info box and add the lot's total value to the family's simoleons on hand. OR 2 - go to your achievements and check the Rosebud achievement, which tracks how many simoleons have been earned over-all in that save file.

**These are in reference to the new earned traits from the Parenthood game pack. Negative traits are Bad Manners, Uncontrolled Emotions, Insensitive, Argumentative and Irresponsible. Positive traits are Good Manners, Emotional Control, Compassionate, Mediator and Responsible. If no traits are earned, then no points are awarded or taken away.

FREE ACTIONS

Every sim in the household has one free action per age category. (PLEASE NOTE : this is an EXTRA free action that can be ANYTHING in the game. This does not mean you can only use one of the following free actions per age-category. The actions listed below are ALWAYS allowed to be done whenever and however many times you need to).

You may choose to "Claim" a bed with every sim ONCE to assign specific beds to specific sims. This can only be done once. After that, they're on their own.

You may choose to quit job/retire for any sim you don't want working, and are allowed to assign sims to specific careers as needed.

You may choose to "Change Into..." out of sleepwear, (because I get tired of seeing them in their underwear/PJs ALL DAY).

If you have an alien sim, you may choose to change into and out of their Human Sim Disguise freely.

You may change tones while at work/school as needed. Whether or not they actually attend or leave early is up to the sims themselves.

You may choose to take vacation days or family leave for NTHs via the phone.

You may Choose an Umbrella from the umbrella stand, if purchased.

When you get the notification for infants that it's their birthday, you are to select the bassinet (with your Torch Holder) to age them up. When all other sims' age bars reach 0, you are allowed to click on a birthday cake to age them up OR click the cake with your TH and choose to 'Age Up...' (select sim). Baking the actual cake and adding candles is up to your TH however.

You may choose to take a Pregnancy Test with NTH female spouses to determine if there is a pregnancy. This CAN be discovered without the test with time, but I can see how the wait would be a little annoying since there are no chimes anymore to tell you yay or nay.

Once a NTH spouse goes into labor, you are allowed to choose to go to the hospital, and may then 'Check-In' at the front desk. All other actions at the hospital must be autonomous. If at home, you must wait for the labor to end naturally (the timer to run down on its own).

You are allowed to purchase and drink ONE youth elixir per sim, per lifetime. (HOWEVER, doing this with a NTH spare will negate the +10 points for not using AP in that generation).

Zodiac Challenge

First of all I would like to credit, dreamsong1968, for making the Sims 3 version of this challenge. I have done some working around and play testing to make it work in the Sims 4.

The core rules will come from Pinestar's Legacy Challenge, which can be found at http://www.simslegacychallenge.com/ if you all are interested. Some things have been changed to fit with this challenge (of course). Read all the rules before you begin.

I would like to point out that this is a 12 generation challenge to allow you to play each sign once.

Set-up:
  • Create your Sim in CAS, keep in mind that the first generation is Aquarius in CAS, you may choose your sim's clothing, name.. etc. Your sim may be male or female, that doesn't affect the challenge, but they should be a young adult. You should pick your traits from the list's provided below (after the rules). No other Sims may be created in CAS with your founder.
  • You can choose your Sims Aspiration freely, however I will list ideal choices for each sign for bonus points.
  • Move your Sim onto the largest lot and bulldoze, should be 50x50. There are two choices throughout Sims 4. You can pick which neighborhood you live in.
  • Your Sim must pick a mate from the list of compatible matches below (after the rules).
  • The next generation of Sims may be born at home or in a hospital, doesn't really change anything either way for this particular challenge, however you must randomize the trait for child, but the teen and adult traits must match the next sign.
  • Sims that die must be kept around as ghosts.
  • You can play as a Matriarchy/Patriarchy if you so choose, however it is not required. The only requirement is that the heir you choose matches the required 2 traits for the next generation.

Rules:
  • No cheating.
  • Aging must be on and lifespan set to normal.
  • Mods that give you an advantage over other players are not allowed.
  • The Legacy family must be the active family the entire time.
  • No Death Flower, Youth Potion or anything that can save your sim from dying.
  • You may not beg for a sim via the Grim Reaper.
  • You may age up Sims with the birthday cake once you get the notification that their birthday is soon.
  • Any Sim can be moved in except for: Sims created by the player, Sims and households downloaded from the gallery, and Sims that had previously lived in the Legacy household but were moved out.
